Council will be discussing the Procedure Bylaw at Tuesday’s meeting. The Bylaw will outline the best practices for how council wishes to conduct legislative business.
The current Procedure Bylaw was put in place in 2014. After many new faces were elected to council in 2017, recent changes were made to the Municipal Government Act and changes to the Council Code of Conduct passed in July, proposed changes have been made.
The proposed changes include eliminating the four hour time limit for meetings and that special council meetings be held in rural communities whenever possible to deal with matters that affect the community.
